“The Role

The School of English wishes to appoint a temporary (one-year) Lecturer in Medieval Literature. The successful candidate will have a research profile commensurate with career stage, and experience in teaching at University level. S/he will contribute to the School’s undergraduate curriculum in medieval literature by teaching seminar groups, offering lectures, and acting as a module convenor. S/he is also expected to make a contribution to the research culture of the School and to play a full and active role in the Faculty’s Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies (MEMS)

The Person

The ideal candidate will have a completed PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area with experience of successful teaching of medieval literature modules at all undergraduate degree levels. An emerging record of international excellence in research and publication commensurate with career stage and evidence of ongoing research projects are essential. The successful candidate will also have a guaranteed submission to REF 2014, including items likely to be graded 3* or 4*.”
