About the role
Providing leadership for the MA Performing Shakespeare programme, as well as supporting the undergraduate programmes, you’ll strengthen the department’s profile – regionally, nationally and internationally – and build on its reputation for pedagogical innovation. You’ll also work effectively and collaboratively to ensure the integration of the course and Shakespeare within the wider work of the School.
You will have excellent postdoctoral research profile as a Shakespeare specialist, with particular emphasis on the performing and/or directing of Shakespeare. You will have substantial experience of HE teaching, processes and management. Professional theatre experience will underpin your research and scholarly interests and you will combine advanced knowledge relating to Shakespeare and the training of actors with a demonstrable interest in pedagogical innovation and quality enhancement. You will be adept at e-learning and online assessment. With a clear commitment to a student-centred teaching and learning environment, your organisational and communication skills will be second to none. You will have innovative ideas about marketing the course and experience of student recruitment. Experience of leading and managing people and budgets would be advantageous.
