On Thursday, April 11th, 2019 the EED&PN hosted its annual Postgraduate and Early Career Symposium at the University of Fribourg. Session topics included practice-based research, a session on understanding dramatic and liturgical context, and a workshop on dramatic records. Scholars, researchers, and professionals who have successfully researched, produced, and taught early drama led the sessions. The symposium concluded with an open space session that allowed participants to discuss the day’s topics and the future of the field. Speakers included Sarah Carpenter (University of Edinburgh), Matthew Cheung-Salisbury (University of Oxford), Helen Gittos (University of Oxford), and Karl Kinsella (University of Oxford). The evening session included a screening of “The South African Mysteries” and a discussion led by director Mark Dornford-May.
