On Thursday, April 11th, 2019 the EED&PN will host its annual Postgraduate and Early Career Symposium at the University of Fribourg. Session topics will include, for example, practice-based research, understanding dramatic context, and a workshop on palaeography and dramatic records. Scholars, researchers, and professionals who have successfully researched, produced, and taught early drama will lead the sessions. The symposium will conclude with an open space session that will allow participants to continue to discuss the day’s topics and the future of the field.

Confirmed speakers:
Sarah Carpenter (University of Edinburgh), Matthew Cheung-Salisbury (University of Oxford), Helen Gittos (University of Oxford), David Griffith (University of Birmingham). There will be a screening of “The South African Mysteries” and a discussion led by director Mark Dornford-May.

Registration:
Registration is free and open but spaces are limited; please complete the form via this link.
A very limited number of travel bursaries will be available to postgraduates or early career researchers who register early. You will be informed of your receipt of a bursary via email within a few days of registration.

The symposium will run the day before the annual Medieval English Theatre meeting which will take place at the Université de Fribourg on April 12-13, 2019 and registration details for this event must be completed separately here.

There are a number of hotels in the town centre many of which can be found at Hotels in Fribourg and delegates will also find a number of reasonable options available through AirBnB.
